Joe Danks is a Music and Health Apprentice for 2014-2015 with practice based at Derbyshire Children’s Hospital, Royal Derby Hospital.
Joe Danks is a musician based in Nottingham. He is predominantly a percussionist, but also sings and plays various members of the guitar family. In 2013-14 Joe completed a ten week mentoring course with Opus, spending time and making music at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Joe is currently working for Nottingham Music Hub tutoring in a variety of community arts settings, as well as in primary school classrooms and large advanced ensembles. He is also a writer and performer, and has played in all kinds of bands – from Folk to Hardcore Punk – as well as having his own music broadcast on national BBC Radio and performing solo at folk festivals up and down the country. Alongside this Joe has done lots of freelance work, including composing the music for a play about the Luddite uprising for Excavate Theatre, and even travelling to France to play in a circus.
