The history of OPUS Music CIC
Where OPUS began
From 2000 to 2024 find out more about our history
OPUS Music CIC was founded by Nick Cutts and Laura Waters back in 2000. Since then it has grown in size and has offered thousands of music-making sessions to patients and families in hospitals and healthcare settings across the East Midlands. As well as supporting patients and families, OPUS’ training programmes have educated musicians and healthcare professionals to use music in their care practice, championing the use of music to improve health and wellbeing.
Building the team
expanding OPUS
Starting out as a two person team, OPUS Music has grown and now consists of four healthcare musicians, a network of alumni and associated musicians, a co-production team, and a board of directors.
