Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Here is a little video to watch, listen to, sing along with and share with someone special.  The intention is to help relax, be calming, bring smiles, feel safe, and perhaps help induce sleep.

  • Find a comfortable place to be with your young friend, where it would be ok to fall asleep.
  • Set up your screen ready to play the video (and plug in the speaker to make a better quality sound)
  • Play at fairly low volume
  • Perhaps start in a sitting up position, but be ready to move the screen so it can be seen from lying down also
  • Listen and watch together, exchanging glances, making eye contact and facial expressions to one another, and nodding for reassurance and safety.
  • Perhaps join in with some gentle humming along to the tune sections, sing the words if you feel comfortable to do so, or perhaps a light shaker or gentle metallic instrument.
  • Leave feedback below on any thoughts you have on how this feels to use – we are looking for ways to improve things all the time.

  1. Haven’t tried it yet with the kids. Have just watched it now at home. How lovely. Cant wait now to try it out! I have just the patient who I think will really enjoy it! Will feed back how it goes.

More of this please! Love it. x

  2. This is a firm favourite with many of the children I’ve used it with. It was even used at a hearing assessment when patient didnt respond to other sounds. When this (which is familiar to her)was played behind her she when very still and listened to Sarah on the violin! She could definitely hear it! How powerful that was and how proud I was that she responded as I thought she would!
